How to Measure Sunshade Awnings

Sunshade Awnings are used mainly in patio or pergola areas. Considerations must be given when deciding how to measure as it can be measured as a face fix (post to post) or between the posts.

Single Sunshade Awning

How to Measure Face Fix

Width: Outside edge of post to outside edge of post neat. (The skin will be approximately 20-25mm less than each side)

Drop: Top of fixing point to bottom of finish point. The example to the right can either finish at the handrail or the awning could go to the floor.

Important Notes:

1. When the awning finishes below the handrail, the customer would have to clip down the blind from outside as they are required to have full control of the awning as they clip it down.

2. Clip down positions are fixed at the bottom of the awning. The above example shows the SADDLE bracket either fixing into the bottom of the post/floor or if the awning is to the balustrade then the SADDLE bracket would fix at that point or a preferred position is available as well. SADDLE brackets can be installed either horizontally or vertically.

How to Measure Recess Fix

Width: Inside to inside neat. Measure top, middle and bottom and write down the shortest width. (The skin will be approximately 20-25mm less than each side)

Drop: Top of fixing point to bottom of finish point. The example to the right can either finish at the handrail or the awning could go to the floor.
