How to Install Automatic Rio Awnigs？

Tools Required：

Important Notes Before You Start

When unpacking your awning, take care to protect the awning from accidental damage or soiling.
Do not drop or drag the awning on the ground.
When removing the protective wrapping from the awning, do not use a knife or box cutter to the wrapping as you could accidentally slice into the fabric of the awning.
The awning has been packed to you fully assembled but it is important to follow this instruction manual to securely fasten the mounting brackets to the house and to install the awning.
Please read the instruction manual completely before installing the awning.
You may need an assistant so at check measure this information should be clearly written on the paperwork.
Left and right references are as you are facing the house.
You will need to provide the correct fixing screws, bolts etc… to ensure a strong and lasting installation.
All Automatic RIO awnings come with OVER ROLL skins with the spring on the right hand side.

How To Install

Step One:

Starting at the mounting height, hold the HOOD in the correct location and make a make at the top of the bracket. Do the same on the right side and then check for level before chalking a line. If mounting into brick then check the bricks for level and if they are level use this as your guide.

You now need to put tension on the spring assembly.

• Attach a spanner to the spring pin.

• Wind the spanner clockwise to apply tension.

Do not let go of the spanner while tensioning as the spring has a lot of force in it.Do not try and over tension the spring as this may cause irrepairable damage to the spring.

Step Four:

When the correct amount of tension has been applied, drop the holding tab down and wind the spring back until it engages the spring pin.

Step Five:

Drop the idle side into the slot of the bracket of the HOOD.

Insert the spring side into the other end of the HOOD, make sure the pin goes into the hole and the holding tab is facing towards you.

Step Six:

Install the arms onto the bottom tube and feed the guide rails through the arms. Be certain to feed the guide rail

between the rollers.

Step Seven:

The guide rail fixing point is determined by the arm length. With the awning in the up position and the guide rails hanging off the arms push the guide rail against the wall and mark for the holes. Make sure the guide rail is plum with the wall and the awning. Repeat the process for the other guide rail.

Step Eight：

Pull the awning down to the bottom of the guide rail leaving enough room to slide the U Bracket up to the arm. Doing this will locate the U Bracket on each guide rail. Mark holes and drill holes, then screw in place. Make sure the guide rails are vertical and parallel. Also check that the fabric is flat before you fix the last U bracket in place.

Step Nine:

Check the awning is running up and down square and there are no obvious waves in the fabric. Show the customer how to operate the awning.

Important note

The drill holes on the u bracket are off centre and you must skew the holes. the top hole if skewing from the left then the bottom hole must be skewed from the right. This will ensure the bracket is fixed flat against the wall.

See pics to right. when taking down the awning, the spring needs to be locked off, using the holding tab. There is a hole on the side of the spring assembly. Insert a rivet or paperclip to push the holding tab to lock off the spring.
